Mick Hangland-Skill

(He/They) Hey! I’m Mick—an award winning photographer and designer specializing in visual journalism. I’m currently a design editor at Gannett|USA TODAY Network where I design some of the biggest newspapers in the company. On Sundays, you may find one of my cover illustrations on a front page near you. I also keep a bustling photo studio and darkroom where I maintain my freelance and fine art practice.

My work covers a wide range of areas: photo editing, art direction, illustration, editorial layout, and more. On every project I work on, I bring a keen eye focused on creating engaging visual stories. Currently, my photographs are on view in the Pacific Northwest Drawers at Blue Sky Gallery in Portland. Get in touch and let’s work on something!
